Kling V3 on Genfire: Turbo, Motion Control and 4K Explained
The Kling V3 family is seven model ids, not one. Standard and Pro with audio and end frames, Turbo, Motion Control, a 4K tier, and where Kling O3 still fits.
Seven Model Ids, One Picker
Kuaishou's Kling V3 is not a single endpoint. On Genfire it arrives as seven model ids that share a prompt format and a credit balance but differ sharply in what they will accept and what comes back:

All of them generate at 16:9, 9:16, or 1:1 from a text prompt. Start from an image instead and the output follows the source frame's shape, so the aspect-ratio control disappears — the studio hides it rather than accepting a setting the endpoint would ignore.

V3 Standard and Pro: The Full-Control Tiers
These are the tiers with everything switched on. Text or image to video, any whole length from 3 to 15 seconds, generated audio, and — the control that earns its keep — an end frame on image-to-video, so the clip travels from one still you chose to another still you chose. Pro is the same surface rendered at higher quality.
They also carry the direction controls the rest of the family trims away. In the browser studio you get multi-shot prompts (several beats described in one request), a shot-type control, and elements: up to two named characters or objects, each attached as a frontal image with optional extra angles, that you @-mention in the prompt to hold consistent through the shot. On the public API, the structured elements, multi_prompt, and shot_type fields belong to the Kling O3 models — see below.
Kling's reputation was built on image-to-video, and this is where it shows. Give Standard or Pro a generated character, a product shot, or a storyboard frame and the motion comes out as if the image had always been a paused video: the subject keeps its identity, and the camera moves like an operator is behind it.
Note what these tiers do not do: lip-sync to an audio file you supply. Kling generates its own audio. If you need a specific voice track driving a specific mouth, that is a job for AI lip sync after the clip exists.
V3 Turbo: Longer, Cheaper, Silent
Kling 3.0 Turbo is a genuinely different bargain, and the trade is worth understanding before you pick it.
What it adds: speed and a lower price per second, on the same 3 to 15 second range as the full tiers. It keeps multi-shot prompts, so a three-beat sequence renders as one clip instead of three. It takes text or an image. And it sells two resolutions — Turbo Standard at 720p, Turbo Pro at 1080p — with Turbo Pro priced at the standard tier's rate. There is very little reason to run Turbo Standard unless you specifically want 720p files.
What it gives up, per its schema: no end frame, no elements, no audio, and none of the tuning fields (no negative prompt, no CFG, no shot type). Turbo output is silent. If a shot has to land on a specific frame, hold a named character, or ship with sound, it is a V3 Standard or Pro job.
The studio hides every control Turbo lacks rather than accepting settings it would drop, so a Turbo run cannot be silently misconfigured — but it is still worth knowing why the panel looks emptier.
Turbo is what you reach for when the shot needs to be long, cheap, and quick: draft passes, background plates, B-roll that will sit under a voiceover anyway, and 12- to 15-second sequences that would cost two generations on the full tiers.
V3 Motion Control
Motion Control is the tier that turns character animation from prompt roulette into direction. It takes two required inputs — a character image and a motion reference video — and produces a five-second clip in which your character performs the reference's movement. The image is who; the video is how. It comes in Standard (video.kling_v3_motion_control) and Pro (video.kling_v3_pro_motion_control) tiers, and takes its framing from the inputs rather than an aspect-ratio setting.
Dance, gesture work, a walk cycle, a boxer's combination, a mascot performing a specific routine — anything where you can show the movement instead of describing it — belongs here. Pair it with a locked influencer identity and the same character can perform a dozen different reference clips.
V3 4K
video.kling_v3_4k is the delivery tier: text or image to video at 4K, with the same 3 to 15 second range, generated audio, and end-frame support as Standard and Pro. In the browser studio it is not a separate model but the third position on the Kling quality selector — Standard, Pro, 4K.
One behaviour to know: pick 4K while Turbo is selected and it steps down to Turbo Pro, because Turbo only sells 720p and 1080p. That is deliberate — the alternative is billing you for a 4K request that renders at 1080p.
Where Kling O3 Fits
Kling O3 is still on Genfire, still current, and still does one thing the V3 line does not: reference-driven generation.
Kling O3 Standard and Pro accept reference images to build a new scene guided by them, and both also take a source video alongside those references to steer a regeneration — video-to-video reference, which the O3 4K tier does not offer. O3 also owns the structured elements input on the public API: up to three character or object references, each a frontal image plus optional extra angles, or one element carrying a driving video, addressed as @Element1 in the prompt. O3 has its own 4K tier too.
The clean split:
- A new scene built from references, or a source clip steered by references → Kling O3.
- A prompt or a single start frame, with an end frame and generated audio → Kling V3 Standard, Pro, or 4K.
- Long, cheap, silent → Kling V3 Turbo.
The 2,450-Character Prompt Cap
Every Kling tier on Genfire caps the prompt at about 2,450 characters, and the studio's counter enforces the same number. That is slightly below the 2,500 Kling's schema advertises, and the gap is deliberate.
The O3 endpoint rejects prompts that are comfortably under 2,500 — it appears to count the prompt after expanding @Element tokens into their full references, so a 2,460-character prompt with several mentions still fails validation. That failure arrives after credits are reserved. Capping at 2,450 and truncating server-side means a long prompt costs you the tail of a sentence rather than a paid run.
In practice 2,450 characters is a comfortable multi-shot brief. If you are pushing past it, the prompt is probably describing three shots that would be better as a multi-shot request with three shorter beats.

How to Run It
In the browser studio
Open the AI video generator and pick Kling V3, Kling V3 Turbo, or Kling V3 Motion Control from the Kling group, then set the quality selector to Standard, Pro, or 4K. Duration, audio, end frame, elements, and the advanced panel appear or disappear according to what the selected tier actually accepts. Motion Control asks for both files before it will run. The studio quotes the credit cost before you generate.
On the API
POST /v1/videos/generations with one of video.kling_v3, video.kling_v3_pro, video.kling_v3_turbo, video.kling_v3_turbo_pro, video.kling_v3_motion_control, video.kling_v3_pro_motion_control, or video.kling_v3_4k.

}'Motion Control needs both image_url (the character) and source_video_url (the movement). On Standard, Pro, and 4K, image_url plus end_image_url gives you the landing frame. GET /v1/models returns each tier's live limits. Keys and docs are at /developers.
Through MCP and the CLI
Point any MCP client at mcp.genfire.ai and call genfire_generate_video with the same model ids — the tool's own guidance steers toward video.kling_v3_turbo_pro for fast, silent drafts and video.kling_o3 when you need smooth motion with strong subject consistency. From the CLI:

Pricing
Genfire is pay-as-you-go. Credit packs start at $19 for 1,000 credits, purchased credits last 12 months, every purchase includes a commercial license, and optional monthly plans start at $29 a month. Within the Kling V3 family, Turbo is the cheap tier and Turbo Pro renders 1080p at the standard tier's rate; 4K is the most expensive and worth reserving for final deliverables.
